SWE Homes recently joined Rebuilding Together Houston to help renovate the home of a homeowner who had been at her house for many years. The SWE team was excited to volunteer last Saturday to help a family have a better and more comfortable home to live in.

Rebuilding Together Houston is an organization working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize neighborhoods. They provide home repair and renovation at no cost to low-income Houston residents such as the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and those impacted by natural disasters.

That beautiful Saturday morning the SWE Homes volunteers worked together to install and paint a wheel chair ramp and renovate the exterior of a home. The work started early in the morning, and at the beginning everyone was getting familiar with all the tools that were going to be used for the day. After a while all the SWE volunteers got the groove going and they looked like a well-organized orchestra performing a masterful piece. It was great to see the faces of the home owners when they saw how everything turned out. It seemed as if they were looking at a brand new home. The ladies that live at this home couldn’t thank SWE Homes enough; they were so pleased and grateful for our help, and that really brought us a lot of joy.
